Where do I begin? There's so much to tell. I always knew as a child I was a bit different from my older and younger sisters who were both two years apart with me being the middle child. I was very nervous and very talkative. I didn't sit still and was very reluctant to watch scarey shows on the television. My grandma instructed me to always wash my hands for germs which led me to going around to everyone asking them if my hands smelled good as a complete obsession. I was also afraid that there was a gun under my pillow at night. So, not trusting myself each night I would lift the pillow to have my mom see that there was no gun. I hated to sleep alone, so I would always sneek into one of my sister's rooms running the risk of my father rushing up the steps to have me go back to my own room. I grew up in Warren, Michigan until sixth grade. The elementary school was right behind the house, so it was an easy walk to school. I was very active as a child, and feared nothing. I loved to water ski at our cottage and play with the neighbor's dogs. I had a childhood that most children would envy. Every weekend we went to our cottage and had the absolute time of our lives. We would go canoeing. I would catch frogs and turtles (among other things). We even brought back some turtles and put them in our playhouse. I was a tomboy as a child getting dirty and playing with the boy neighbors jumping bushes off the porches. We would play kickball, soft ball, and various other sports out in the streets. We had gerbils and goldfish as pets. My mom and dad never wanted to own a dog. |
